What is a Fusion Liaison Officer?

A Fusion Liaison Officer (FLO) is an individual that serves as the main point of contact for their agency and corresponds with the Virginia Fusion Center in matters related to suspicious activity and intelligence. The FLO continues to work for and is under complete control of their parent agency. The VFC supplies the FLO and their agency with a place to exchange information and receive vetted intelligence.

Training Provided:

This 3 days training will provide the attendee with information in regards to:

  • Virginia Fusion Center Overview and Information Exchange
  • Mobilization Indicators - NCTC
  • DHS/CISA and CI/KR Brief
  • UAV Threat and Awareness
  • Gang Awareness
  • Suspicious Activity Reporting
  • Human Trafficking
  • Sovereign Citizens Movement
  • VFC Shield Program
  • Public Health
  • VFC Behavioural Threat Presentation
  • Other TBD Topics

Classes generally consist of first responders, DOC, dispatchers, nurses, health and human services, public works, federal partners, private sector partners, as well as many other disciplines.

There is no cost for the training. Class is lecture based. Dress is business casual. Meals are NOT provided, but time will be made available for lunch.

All attendees must bring TWO forms of identification to include your department or corporate credentials/badge prior to sessions. This is due to the sensitive material that will be discussed.

Registration

All applicants are subject to vetting and may be denied admittance based on several factor solely in the VFC's discretion. Register with your official email address (from your organization) All non-official email address registrations will not be considered. (gmail/hotmail etc) If we identify an issue, or a question in reference to your eligibility we will contact you directly to discuss.

PIC Credits

This training is approved for 16 hours of partial in-service credit for Virginia Law Enforcement Officers as well as 8 hours for Crime Prevention Specialist recertification. You must attend all three days of training in order to receive full credit
